He took his time to make a decision, but now Gov. Dave Freudenthal (D-WY) officially announced this week that he will not run for a 3rd term as Governor. Freudenthal would have to had challenge the constitutionality of the state's term-limit laws, something many felt he could have done. But instead, this locks up Wyoming as an almost sure-fire Republican pickup opportunity. Auditor Rita Meyer, Fmr. State House Speaker Ron Micheli, and Fmr. US Attorney Matt Mead are already running for the Republicans, while the only Democrat to show much interest so far is State Sen. Mike Massie.
STRONG ADVANTAGE FOR THE REPUBLICANS.
