PA-04: Big Financial Advantage Gives Bigger Edge To Altmire

In 2006, Republican Rep. Melissa Hart was defeated by Democrat Jason Altmire by a 51%-49% margin, and many Republicans attributed her loss to the fact that she seemed to take the race for granted until the closing weeks of the contest. But now that Altmire is the incumbent and Hart is running for her old seat as the challenger, Altmire seems determined not to make the same mistake. In the second quarter, he reeled in almost half a million dollars, leaving him with almost $1.6M on hand. Hart, meanwhile, hasn't done a terrible job fundraising, but still lags well behind with $625K on hand at the end of Q2. I still expect this one to be competitive, but right now Altmire has the clear edge.

Slight►SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE FOR ALTMIRE.
