InsiderAdvantage Georgia: Toss-Up

InsiderAdvantage Georgia Poll conducted 6/18 of 409 RVs, pdf here:

McCain 44%
Obama 43%
Barr 6%

Obama has talked about competing in Georgia this year, which neither Al Gore nor John Kerry really did. And if this poll is right, he certainly should be making a bid for the state's 15 electoral votes. Problem for Obama is that this looks like an outlier: no other poll has put Obama within 8 points of McCain here, and most have him up by about 10%-15%. One wildcard here will be the candidacy of Barr, the former Republican Congressman from Georgia running as a Libertarian. If he pulls 6% or more, then that could tighten the race, but I doubt that Barr wins more than 2% or 3% here by Election Day.

STRONG ADVANTAGE FOR McCAIN, at least until we get more numbers that resemble this.
