State Rep. Jon Elrod (R) will not challenge incumbent Rep. Andre Carson (D) to a rematch in the strongly Democrat 7th district based around Indianapolis. The two faced off in a special election in May after the death of Carson's grandmother, Rep. Julia Carson, last December; in what was considered a potentially competitive race Carson won 54%-43%. The GOP will have a chance to pick a new nominee in the next few weeks at a nominating caucus, but without a strong opponent like Elrod, this should be an easy hold for Carson in November.
Strong►OVERWHELMING ADVANTAGE FOR CARSON.
