SurveyUSA MO-06 Poll conducted 5/16-5/18 of 547 LVs:
Rep. Sam Graves (R) 49%
Fmr. KC Mayor Kay Barnes (D) 39%
Graves won in this Republican-leaning seat by 25 points in 2006, but Barnes was perhaps the only Democrat who could have given the four-term incumbent a tough race. Graves wins 19% of Democrats, but Barnes only gets 7% of Republicans, while Graves carries Independents 49%-34%. Barnes leads 44%-43% in the part of this district in the KC metro area (but note that the district includes just a tiny sliver of the city itself), while the more rural parts of the district to the north back Graves 58%-30%. If Barnes can improve her name ID outside the KC Metro Area, she has a chance to win.
SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE FOR GRAVES.
